What We Do, What You'll See, Jatropha Farming

Farming Biodiesel Inc. is a social farming organization using various jatropha farming methods to farm bio-fuel stock at a low operating cost. Our goal is to eliminate Petrol use through green technologies by utilizing solar energy, the integration of fish, vegetable crops, and live stock to make our Jatropha farm virtually self sufficient.

We start with fish ponds, using talapia, trout, catfish, and soon fresh water shrimp. This water flows into a flood field where the seedling and saplings are set before going into the field. The fish water is also injected into the irrigation system for a part of our organic fertilizer.

Crop Integration

It starts in the flood fields with crops such as rice and corn and then continues into the 30 acre nursery area for jatrophia. Our current planted crops include lettuce, eggplant, onions, radish, peppers, cucumbers, green beans, corn, rice, cantalope, and a variety of herbs. Our 50 acre live stick pasture includes chickens, cows, pigs, goats, and a horse. By reclaiming a marginal wasteland in an economically struggling area, we can demonstrate how jatropha should be planted and maintained through watering, pruning, and general care of the crop.

Mobile Propagation Units
We can also provide detailed information on how you can integrate our bio-fuel crops into your own farm. We show the basic layout for ponds and irrigation through our onsite examples. We also will give you the latest independent lab studies on jatropha curcas. In addition, we provide information on how to propagate bio-fuel stock effectively and economically.
